UniTrak gets a visit from the Canadian Minister of Economic Development

Today, UniTrak hosted the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), at a plant visit on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Minister Goodyear was accompanied by Rick Norlock, Member of Parliament for Northumberland-Quinte West and Wendy Curtis, Executive Director for Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation (Northumberland CFDC).

Northumberland CFDC has been a key partner in helping UniTrak to grow its domestic and international business with the assistance of funding from the Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP). EODP, a funding program within Minister Goodyear’s federal portfolio, has assisted UniTrak in building its manufacturing capacity and innovation, while growing its workforce in Port Hope, Ontario. UniTrak has been able to further develop its advanced manufacturing process, undertake specialized employee training, and increase its presence in key international markets as a result of the federal funds offered through Northumberland CFDC and FedDev Ontario.
